🏆 Awarded Best Professional Development for K-12 Literacy Intervention & Dyslexia Training — The Insider Weekly
📰 Featured In: Associated Press | USA TODAY Network | Nexstar Media | Google News | 400+ Outlets
America's premier literacy training and district consulting organization. Trusted by the NYC Department of Education, Chicago Public Schools, Atlanta Public Schools, the Archdiocese of New York, and 1,000+ schools in all 50 states. 18 years. Award-winning. Results-proven.
TRUSTED BY AMERICA'S MOST DEMANDING SCHOOL SYSTEMS
Every state now has literacy or dyslexia legislation with real deadlines. Most principals we talk to are surprised by what they're actually required to have in place — and even more surprised by what happens when a parent files a complaint or a state audit arrives and the district has no documentation. OGI fixes that.
⚖️ 01 — The Deadline Is Real
State mandates have deadlines, documentation requirements, and audit processes. Schools that act now are protected. Schools that wait face parent complaints, state scrutiny, and legal exposure.
📋 02 — Training Alone Doesn't Work
Most schools have sent teachers to OG training. Most saw limited results — not because the training was bad, but because there was no system built around it. OGI builds the infrastructure that makes training stick.
📊 03 — RTI on Paper, Not in Practice
Nearly every school has an RTI document. Very few have a real RTI system with decision rules, validated progress monitoring, and data teams that actually adjust instruction based on what they see.
👥 04 — Parents Are Better Informed
Parents who understand IDEA rights and RTI processes are no longer waiting. When a school can't show its documented system, it creates legal exposure and trust erosion that costs far more than building the system.
Five Ways to Partner with The Orton Gillingham Institute

📰 FEATURED IN MAJOR NEWS OUTLETS
Please reach us at support@ortongillinghaminstitute.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Absolutely. Individual schools are our most common entry point. A single principal can approve most of our engagements — the Audit ($3,500-$5,500) and the School Starter retainer ($1,500/month) are both within typical professional development budgets without requiring superintendent approval. Many of our best district relationships started with one principal and one school.
Most OG providers train your teachers and leave. OGI stays. We don't just deliver a course — we build the system around the training: the RTI framework, the data protocols, the compliance documentation, the progress monitoring tools. That's why our clients see results in their actual reading data, not just on completion certificates. We've been doing this since 2007.
Most districts fund OGI partnerships using Title I funds, IDEA funds, state literacy grant money, or general professional development budgets. Our services qualify as allowable expenditures under most federal education funding streams. We can help you identify the right funding source for your state and district during your Discovery Call.
The lowest commitment is a Tier 1 Literacy Readiness Audit — a one-time project with no ongoing obligation. For retainer engagements, the minimum is 90 days. The standard retainer is 180 days, after which you continue month-to-month with 30 days written notice.
The vast majority of our district work is delivered virtually. On-site visits are available as an add-on. We serve clients in all 50 states and have built effective partnerships without a single in-person visit.
Book a free 20-minute Discovery Call and we can typically start within 2-3 weeks of a signed contract. For the Audit, your report is delivered within 3-4 weeks of signing. For retainers, we recommend starting as soon as possible — district budgets finalize in June, and schools that engage us now are positioned to launch in September.
